Northeast Vietnam Photography Tour in Details

Day 1: HANOI – BABE LAKE (-/-/-)

Depart from Hanoi to Ba Be. Here, you come to see the Ethnology Museum. After the stay in Thai Nguyen, you will follow the road through the picturesque landscapes of the Northeast of Vietnam to reach Ba Be Lake. There are numerous photo opportunities along the road from Thai Nguyen to Cho Ra. Upon arrival, check in the hotel in Cho Ra.

DAY 2: BA BE LAKE (B/L/D)

In the morning, if lucky enough to be on time for the weekly market in Cho Ra, you can take impressive photos in this extraordinary market. Thousands of hill tribe people come to this market for shopping, buying goods, and have fun. Then, we will enjoy a peaceful boat trip downstream Nang River to Ba Be Lake. Here, you explore the unspoiled tropical National Park and also stop by to discover Puong limestone Grotto and Dau Dang waterfall. There are various photo opportunities along this enchanting boat trip along the river. You view the peaceful and lush scenery along the riverbanks. After picnic lunch, go on boating along the lake to Pac Ngoi – the tranquil Tay village located right on the side of Ba Be Lake. This is very thrilling boat trip along the biggest lake in the mountain area of Vietnam. Also, this is the dramatic place for photo shooting in the day. Once arrived, we will spend a night in the Tay people’s traditional house in the village. Then, roam around the village and get hands-on experience in the local activities with some more favorite photos.

Day 3: BABE LAKE – PAC BO GROTTO – CAO BANG (B/L/D)

The next destination to explore is Cao Bang. Though the road is bumpy, our effort is worthwhile as we’re heading toward the winsome mountainous landscapes with the heavenly terrace rice field and the mysterious hill villages. When you’re in Cao Bang, check in the hotel, and then have lunch at the local restaurant. In the afternoon, enjoy a short drive to Pac Bo Grotto, the historical place where the respected Ho Chi Minh came back in February 1941, after his 30 years of living abroad to find a way to liberate Vietnam. The landscape along the way is amazing with the eye-catching green rice field and local water wheel here. Come back to Cao Bang in the late afternoon, and then have dinner at the town restaurant.

Day 4: FULL DAY TO BAN GIOC WATERFALL – NGUOM NGAO GROTTO (B/L/D)

In the early morning, start the trip to Ban Gioc Waterfall, the most peaceful waterfall in Vietnam via the spectacular pass of Ma Phuc. The lighting in the early morning on the drive from Cao Bang to Ban Gioc is perfect for shooting the exceptional and gorgeous scenery of Cao Bang. Arrive at Ban Gioc before it will get crowded with many other travelers. After visiting and taking pictures at Ban Gioc greatly, transfer to NguomNgao Grotto. Take a memorable hike to NguomNgao Grotto, one of the most impressive grottoes in the Northeast of Vietnam. Then, drive back to Cao Bang and have the en-route lunch. You can roam around Cao Bang City and take their pictures on your own in the rest of the day.

Day 5: CAO BANG – LANG SON (B/L/D)

In the morning, transfer to Lang Son, the border town which was once destroyed by war. Once arrived in Lang Son, spend a couple of hours driving around the town, stopping at the busy market of Ky Lua, visit Tam Thanh Grotto, the legendary rock formation named ” wife waiting for husband”, and the picturesque Ki Kung River – Vietnam’s unique river flowing to China.

Day 6: LANG SON – HALONG BAY (B/L/D)

As scheduled, you transfer to Halong Bay. And then, embark to Dragon Pearl Junk. The courteous cruise will greet you. Enjoy the welcome drink and listen to cruise instructions. Check in the lovely room, and then enjoy lunch while the Junk starts sailing toward Bai Tu Long Bay with magnificent topography and seascape of the limestone mountain. The Junk will sail to Cap La and anchor by the local fishing village. From here, you experience the half-hour discovery of Halong Bay by kayaking. Then, come back to the Junk for swimming in emerald water. Also, you can rest on the sun deck and contemplate the picture of Halong in the sunset while the Junk is sailing toward Cong Do.

Day 7: HALONG (B/L/D)

You can greet the sunrise of Halong Bay on the sun deck with a cup of tea or coffee on hands. Then, savor the breakfast in the fresh and beautiful atmosphere of the legendary Bay. The Junk will start cruising to Cong Dam while discovering the exceptional geological values of Bai Tu Long Bay. Once arrived, you can experience kayaking through the secretive lagoons and the significant geological park in Cong Dam. After that, back to the Junk for sailing to Tra Gioi Beach where to sunbath, relax or swim. In this isolated beach, you will have the wonderful lunchtime to enjoy the pleasant BBQ seafood meal. Then, we will cruise to Cong Dam Fishing Village. The villagers will welcome you to their village on the traditional basket boat. Then, you visit the lovely lagoon, the school, local fish farm, and also mingle with local fishermen to know more about them. The basket boat will take you back to the junk, and then, we sail back to Cong Dam area. The rest of the day should be about swimming or relaxing on the Junk. Interestingly savor the awesome dinner in ThienCanh Son Cave.

Day 8: HALONG BAY – THO HA – HANOI (B/L/-)

In the morning, experience cruise voyage to Bai Tu Long Bay. The cruise will be stopping in a beautiful place for your last swim in the emerald water. After the swimming joy, our cruise will move to the harbor while A la carte lunch is prepared. On the way back to Hanoi, stop byTho Ha Village, the renowned site of terracotta products before the 20th century. You also take a short local ferry to the village. And then, enjoy your lovely time in a local home of Mr. Viet, where to see how rice paper has been processed and have the interesting conversations about his family as well as his life. As an NVA (Northern Vietnamese Army), Mr. Viet used to join the liberation of Saigon in 1975. The involvement in Mr. Viet’s house gives you the deeper understand about the life of local people. Then, we will visit 400-year-old pagoda that remains all primary architecture and Buddha statues. The sacred and quiet atmosphere inside the pagoda are praiseworthy. Discover village through narrow alleys with the ancient houses built from the broken parts of terracotta from the old time. Walk to the end of the village to approach the dike where to view the village from afar. Drive back to Hanoi.
