Phu Quoc, also known as Sunset Town, is set to unveil a spectacular array of new experiences to round off the year, adding to the allure of this pristine destination. Among the noteworthy additions are the Kiss Bridge, La Festa Phu Quoc Hotel, and the vibrant Vui-Fest Night Market.
The Enchanting Inauguration of Phu Quoc’s Kiss Bridge
The Kiss Bridge Phu Quoc, a mesmerizing creation by Italian designer Marco Casamonti, officially opened its arms – or rather, its architectural brilliance to visitors on December 23. This artistic masterpiece spans an impressive 800 meters, comprising northern and southern branches that form a cohesive whole while maintaining a deliberate 30cm separation—a distance ideal for intimate gestures like hugs, handshakes, or kisses. Sun Group representatives reveal that this precision serves a special purpose: on January 1 every year, the setting sun aligns perfectly between the two bridge tips, creating a uniquely enchanting sunset viewing spot.
The bridge boasts a conson span, a horizontal structure fixed at one end and free at the other, spanning up to 25 meters on a 65-degree inclined pier. Weighing a staggering 400 tons on each side, the bridge’s unique design and structural audacity make it a symbol of architectural innovation—a pedestrian bridge over the sea, elevating Phu Quoc’s tourism appeal.
Crafted as a sea-surface sculpture, the Kiss Bridge has captivated the architectural world with its intricate design resembling a strip of silk stretching into the sea. Sun Group envisions the bridge becoming the “second Golden Bridge phenomenon” for Vietnamese tourism, solidifying its status as a landmark attraction.
Step into Luxury: La Festa Phu Quoc Hotel, Hilton’s Curio Collection Debut in Vietnam
Simultaneously, the La Festa Phu Quoc Hotel, part of the prestigious Curio Collection by Hilton, opened its doors on December 21, marking the luxurious brand’s debut in Vietnam. Nestled in the heart of Hoang Hon town, the hotel offers breathtaking views of the Hon Bridge and features a distinctive Mediterranean-inspired design. Boasting 197 rooms across 13 categories, the hotel seamlessly integrates with the liberal ambiance of Phu Quoc’s waters, providing an exquisite experience for guests.
Visitors to La Festa Phu Quoc can easily explore nearby attractions, including Cau Hon, Hon Thom cable car, Vui-Fest Bazaar night market, and the Kiss Of The Sea beach with its multimedia technology show on a water screen.
Vui-Fest Beach Night Market Lights Up Sunset Town: Dive into a World of Food, Shopping, and Entertainment
Adding to the island’s allure is the Vui-Fest Beach Night Market, the first of its kind in Vietnam, promising a novel nightlife experience. Situated in Sunset Town, this market serves as a haven for shopping enthusiasts and a vibrant culinary and cultural exchange space. From street food to international delicacies, the stalls offer a diverse range of culinary delights and unique souvenirs.
The market also hosts the daily “Loang Xang show,” a street musical performance blending elements of street circus and musical effects created from kitchen utensils and fishermen’s tools, adding an artistic touch to the cultural convergence.
Phu Quoc’s Grand Finale: A Spectacular Tapestry of Year-End Experiences Unveiled
As the year draws to a close, Sunset Town gears up to offer numerous exciting experiences. The Kiss of the Sea show, featuring a 7-minute fireworks display in the evenings, promises to be a visual spectacle. Visitors can also immerse themselves in the festive spirit with a towering 24-meter Christmas tree, the Joyjoy show with a vibrant Latin party theme, and the opportunity to take the Hon Thom cable car to Sun World Hon Thom for water games and scuba diving adventures.
The grand finale awaits with the “Countdown Phu Quoc 2024 – Radiant Journey” on the evening of December 31 at Anh Duong Square (Hon Thom Cable Car Station). Famous artists will grace the event with a sound and fireworks display, creating unforgettable New Year’s Eve moments for all attendees.
This ambitious expansion of Phu Quoc’s tourism offerings is backed by a substantial investment of over 4,000 billion VND by Sun Group. The group envisions a symbiotic relationship with the city government, collectively transforming the pearl island into a distinctive global destination. With these innovative products, Phu Quoc is poised to establish itself as a world-renowned tourist hotspot, featuring attractions destined to become iconic symbols of the island’s tourism landscape.
